Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using Samavow (“the Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. You must be at least 18 years of age to use this Service.

2. Service Description

Samavow is a secure messaging platform that allows users to compose letters, voice messages, and video recordings to be stored in an encrypted vault and delivered when specific conditions are met.

3. Not a Legal Will

Important: Samavow does not constitute a legal will, testament, or any legally binding document. The Service does not verify death legally. Consult a qualified attorney for legal estate planning.

4. Account Responsibilities

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and passphrase.
• You are responsible for the accuracy of recipient information you provide.
• You must designate at least one Executor during onboarding.
• Your passphrase is never stored — if lost, encrypted content is permanently unrecoverable.

5. Dead Man's Switch

The Dead Man's Switch is a check-in system that sends periodic pings to verify your continued activity. You agree that failure to respond to 3 consecutive check-in pings will trigger the release protocol, which may result in the delivery of your sealed drafts to designated recipients.

6. Content Policies

You retain full ownership of all content you create. We do not review, moderate, or access your encrypted content. However, you agree not to use the Service to transmit unlawful threats, harassment, or content that violates applicable law.

7. Payments and Refunds

Paid plans are billed through our Merchant of Record (Dodo). Subscription plans renew automatically. You may cancel at any time — your access continues through the end of the billing period. The Forever Vault is a one-time payment with lifetime access. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis within 30 days of purchase.

8. Service Continuity

In the event that Samavow ceases operations, we will provide 90 days' notice and deliver all sealed drafts to their designated recipients. We will also provide data export tools so users can retrieve their content.

9. Limitation of Liability

Samavow is provided “as is.” We are not liable for failed deliveries due to incorrect recipient information, email bounces, or circumstances beyond our control. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding any claim.
